Anaysis of Psychologic Condition Influencing on Industrial Accidents by MMPI


Abstract
By evaluating the psychologic status of 128 male workers engaged in a metal-product factory by the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory in conjunction with their experience of industrial accident,I attempted to find out the pattern of personal characterics influencing on the occurence of accident.
Differences in the score of the scales of MMPI between control workers and accident workers were statistically tested by t-test.
The followings were the results obtained in this study.
1. The average raw score (37.59) of the schizophrenia scale in accident workers is very significantly higher than in control workers (33.92).
2. The average raw score (34.03) of the psychoasthenia scale in accident workers is significantly higher than in control workers (31.80).
3. The average raw score (16.54) of the hypochondriasis scale in accident workers is significantly higher than in control workers (14.83).
